Wouldn’t I be better off buying and holding TQQQ?

Holding TQQQ long-term is volatile, and subject to extreme fluctuations from which it may take years to recover. Raincheck Fund’s Market Signal keeps you out of the market during these downturns.

Wouldn’t I be better off buying holding QQQ instead of TQQQ?

It depends on your goals and risk tolerance. Holding QQQ long term is widely accepted as a sound investing strategy. Raincheck Fund’s approach is a higher risk/reward strategy.

What is beta slippage?

Beta-slippage is the performance drag that occurs in leveraged ETFs due to daily rebalancing and compounding, especially in volatile markets. For example, if an asset rises 25% one day and falls 20% the next, its price returns to the original value. However, a 2x leveraged ETF tracking it would lose 10% over the same period.

This happens because leveraged ETFs amplify daily returns, not long-term performance, and volatility magnifies the effect. Beta-slippage isn’t a flaw—it’s the natural outcome of their design. These ETFs are best suited for short-term trading, not long-term holding.
